Specialised, Selfless Service: Dehradun NGO serves different food preferences in tiffin service
The Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti in Dehradun has been running a tiffin service since 27th April 2021 to support communities in Dehradun as the city copes with the Second Wave of COVID-19. Rather than a one-size fits all menu, the menu fits the needs of the people on a case-by-case feedback basis, thus putting the needs of the individual above the providing a generic service while making nearly 180 meals a day. Unlike most commercial restaurants and services, the NGO takes into account the religious, medical, and personal backgrounds of all those who order the food from them. Each dietary preference has food made accordingly which is then delivered to the homes that require the specialised diet. “We realised that people have dietary restrictions and preferences that many cafes and restaurants cannot fulfil or meet based on religion, tastes, medical conditions, and time. . .
